Beijing and beyond

At very short notice Club President Colin Dowding gave a fascinating and informative talk on his trip to China and Hong Kong in 2015.

The trip started in Beijing and then via air or train he travelled South via Xian through Guilin and onto Hong Kong. Many of the photographs illustrated life as it is in China often away from the tourist areas and emphasised the labour ethic and poverty that exists today; often contrasted with the extreme wealth that does exist. A selection of the photographs shown are presented below.

In thanking Colin, President elect David Swain, congratulated him on producing such an interesting and well illustrated talk at a weeks notice. The talk was clearly  appreciated by members, and wives that were present, judging from the many, wide ranging questions which followed his talk.
