About Rotary

Possibly the best way to understand the basis of Rotary is to read the Object of Rotary. In addition the President of Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) 2013-14, Nan McCredie, has provided an excellent introduction to and explanation of Rotary for those who may not be fully familiar with the organisation. RIBI operates throughout the UK with over 1,800 Clubs and   50,000 men and women members.

Rotary is  a worldwide organisation and full details of its activities across the globe can be found via the Rotary International (RI) website

At a local level Barton-le-Clay is a member of  (RIBI) District 1260 and fully supports it diffent activities, including the annual conference.

In addition, Rotary also has its own charity - The Rotary Foundation - which funds the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty throughout the world. Anyone wishing to donate to this charity can do so and if they pay income tax can claim gift aid which increases the value of the donation. These donations require a specific form which can be accessed from this page
